Objective:
1. The Project Engineer shall be responsible for projects
assigned to them by Project Manager, Engineering Manager,
Operation Manager or Directors.
2. The Project Engineer shall be responsible for the recording
and monitoring the project costs including raising invoices,
agreeing variations in scope of services.
3. The Project Engineer shall be responsible for ensuring
that the project is managed in a safe and professional manner
and is undertaken in compliance with all relevant Health and
Safety legislation.
4. Planning, supervision and coordination of project activities
and ensure that project is within the budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform various engineering calculations and analyses related
to process design and equipment sizing and selection;
2. Define process controls and develop preliminary engineering
drawings such as site layouts, P&IDs and PFDs;
3. Prepare detailed project cost estimates;
4. Interface with equipment suppliers and vendors;
5. Prepare project documentation such as operations &
maintenance manuals
6. Responsible for ensuring timely implementation of projects
allocated from time to time.
7. Responsible for ensuring projects allocated are delivered
to clients requirements, meeting or exceeding the user requirement/project
definition.
8. Ensure all documentation is maintained and dealt with efficiently
9. Ensure that all projects are completed in accordance with
JM H&S standard and contractor regulations, as updated
from time to time.
10. Responsible for the specification of various services
and utilities, also that they are completed in sufficient
time to enable contractors to complete/fulfill their obligations.
11. Ensure that all equipment is ordered, delivered and commissioned
on time.
12. Responsible for ensuring all as Built information is completed
within 30 days of project completion.
13. Adjudicate tenders/offers in free and fair, transparent
fashion.
14. Producing project plan/programme and ensuring that all
works are completed on time and within budgets.
15. Control and accepting on behalf of all projects all completed
works.
16. Ensuring sufficient spares are available for commissioning
and for first 12 months operation.
17. Organizing the necessary resources to complete the project
on time.
18. Controlling resources (human and financial) such that
the requirements of each project is met.
19. Evaluates and prepare engineering standards, scope of
work, design, and materials and equipment of small to medium-scale
projects related to mechanical, machinery, instrument and
electrical or civil works. Monitors and supervises construction
and installation activities.
Education:
Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
Requirements:
1. 5 years of relevant experience.
2. Good understanding of Production, Maintenance, Quality,
Health, Safety and Environmental and Administration practices
and procedures at JM.
3. Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
4. Commissioning and operating experience.

Good Spoken & Written English
